On January 5, 2002 the Living Seas received 1 juvenile green turtle that was cold stunned off the coast of Georgia.  Turtle 15404 was rescued by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and was rehabilitated at Mote Marine Lab in Sarasota, FL.  After several months of rehabilitation the turtles were scheduled for release on April 22nd, Earth Day.   Each turtle was pit and flipper tagged and a satellite transmitter was attached to each individual. Additional modifications to the transmitter design were made for another generation of ST-19 transmitters.  The turtles were released at Fort Matanzas – St. Johns County. Unfortunately no location data was recorded due to transmitter malfunction.
